Who are the participants of the Balanced Physician program exactly?
Our clients are physicians from all specialties, practicing alone or as part of a group, physician executives and leaders, young physicians who just get started in their career, and seasoned professionals ready to move into a more productive and rewarding lifestyle.
We also work with practice managers and entire medical teams.
The most important criteria for acceptance within the Balanced Physician Program is the participants' level of desire and openness towards making improvements in their performance that impact patient care, their efficiency, and the success of their personal and professional lives.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of your clients?
The type of person who benefits the most from the Balanced Physician Program has a mind-set that is open to learn new ideas, is driven by accomplishments, and is ready to take action.
The partnerships we form with our clients are based on trust, confidentiality, mutual respect, and constant progress where we co-create the best solution for any given situation.
What type of professional is this program NOT going to work for?
Please understand that we must be highly selective with whom we work since our number of clients at any given time is limited. If someone is not suited for this program we make a sensitive effort to re-direct them to areas that might be more effective for them.
We are not interested in spending unproductive time with people who are "know it all's" and self-indulgent, or closed minded. We also screen for individuals that will not take responsibility for their situation, and consistently make excuses for not progressing.
What exactly is the Balanced Physician program and what does it include?
The Balanced Physician Program is dedicated to teaching the physician a complete set of skills necessary to develop a fulfilling and financially rewarding medical practice, and to do so without sacrificing their personal life.
The goal is to assist clients to make changes that they couldn't or wouldn't do on their own as quickly and as successfully.
The program is fast paced, action-oriented, practical, and focuses on the non-medical skills of the participants.
Does this really work?
Yes... our program is designed to make rapid and measurable progress.
Principles that are foundational to our work are 1) clarified motivation, and 2) a focus on priorities and improvements. The implications of these principles are profound and provide the basis for establishing a personalized framework for action and a prescription for the skills that would be most useful. Together we create circumstances that foster the time, energy and clarity to work on the skills, behaviors and changes that provide quantum-leap results and improve the quality of the personal and professional lives. Trust me.
What results can I expect?
You can expect to:
- Feel more motivated and energized about your profession and your life
- Feel more 'in control' of what happens to you and how you respond
- Get more done in less time
- Identify possible problems before they happen
- Learn unique ways to build trust with your employees and patients which will result in mutual satisfaction
How quickly can I expect results?
Obviously, this depends on how much effort and time you put into the program and yourself. That said, virtually all participants experience tangible results within the first couple of months in the form of more focus, more available time for self, greater motivation, and a sense of control.
How will we work together and what does the program entail?
When accepted into a program, you will receive focused support via a personalized strategy designed to conform to the constraints of your schedule. This will be provided through workshops, private telephone conversations, and other resources as needed.
Coaching Support
You arrange to have 2-3 meetings per month. At the scheduled time you will initiate the call to begin a dialogue. Each week, the "floor" will be opened to the work that you wish to do; a coach will help guide you through the process, utilizing different tools and techniques as needed.
What will the program cost?
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. You and your situation are unique, so together we will custom-design the Balanced Physician program together that fits your needs, your time schedule, your values, and your goals.
The Balanced Physician programs includes:
- An initial consultation to prioritize your topics and challenges
- Assessments to get a snapshot of your situation
- A 3-hour strategic session to diagnose your unique situation and to develop an action plan
- Unlimited access for short telephone conversations and emails.
During the strategic session
- we will design our partnership together,
- clarify your situation / goals / vision and needs, and
- create a coaching strategy plus an action plan.
Together we'll determine the mix of consulting and coaching which will best benefit you (see coaching versus consulting for more information about this hybrid approach).
For phone-based programs investments range between $600 - $1000 per month.
For in-person programs investments range between $700 - $1200 per month.
Group and Team Programs:
Price is determined by the size of the group and format of the program. Please call to inquire.
You are not a physician, how can you understand what we are going through?
I was raised in a family of physicians and dentists and I learned about their challenges early on.
My goal is not to work with you on clinical issues because that is something what you were taught in medical school.
The focus of our work will be on personal competencies, self-management, success principles, business concepts, leadership and communication skills; all those topics that medical school never mentioned but are crucial for a successful healthcare provider today.
Many clients have mentioned to me that it was very valuable to them to receive the outside perspective from a non-physician.
I have a overwhelming practice and life and I just don't have any time to spare. Any suggestions?
Yes, sometimes you have to give first before you receive. If you continue living your life as you have in the past you will get the same results in the future.
If you are tired of feeling overwhelmed, stressed, out of control, then this program might be the best investment you will ever make. Unfortunately, most people are only willing to change when the situation they are in is so bad that they don't have a choice but to change.
Our programs are geared towards the proactive medical professionals who want to avoid major problems and crisis by continually improving their self management and interpersonal skills. The Balanced Physician Program is a prevention rather than a treatment program. It is designed to reduce mistakes and hasten progress. Our regular meetings, proven strategies and accountability will ensure your progress ... guaranteed.
On a side note, if time restraints are one of your major problems, this is most likely a topic that we will start to work on.
Ok, I know that this program would benefit me. How do we get started?
Here's what you do: Call our office at 770-428-2334 or email and lets schedule a preliminary consultation (free of charge for you) which will last approximately 30 minutes.
Our phone conversation will give you an idea of the program scope and will help me understand your specific challenges. Then it is up to you to decide if this program can benefit you.
If I am not sure if I am ready to get started, what are some options?
