Medical skills alone are no longer sufficient to excel in today's health care environment. Physicians are not only responsible for patients; they also lead the entire care team while managing a practice and relationships with organizations like hospitals and insurers.
At the conclusion of this program participants:
- Know the 3 major leadership styles and their application
- Understand the unique role of physicians as leaders
- Realize the cost of substandard leadership skills
- Recognize the importance and impact of self-leadership and behavior
- Identify the cricial skills, qualities and responsibilities of effective leaders
- Develop a concrete plan how to improve leadership competencies
Using a combination of experiential learning, lectures, and small group discussions, Iris guides the participants through a series of modules which facilitate a good understanding that leadership is a function of character and skills.
This program is available as a one-hour presentation and in half-day, full-day, and two-day versions, depending upon time availability, level of interest of participating physicians, spouses, support staff and budget considerations.
