This book describes the importance of working in your practice (Systems Thinking) versus just working in your practice. (Tactical Thinking) It describes ways to show physicians how to regain control over the practice, not by trying to manage people better (which is impossible) but by creating a repeatable system that anyone can follow to success.
Covey challenges you to perform a "paradigm shift" - a change in perception and interpretation of how the world works. Definitely, not an easy read, but a book that makes a huge difference in your thinking process.
I love this book because it describes many practical suggestions for reducing the hassles, pressures, worries, inefficiencies, and risks in physicians' professional lives.
I love browsing through this book. It tells you everything you need to know how to achieve super success in all areas of your personal and professional lives.
This is one of my favorite reference books because it focuses not only on private life matters (how to improve relationships, how to overcome depression) but also on professional skills (how to manage time effectively, how to cope with the boss).
I heard T. Scott Gross speak at one of the NSA conventions and I had to get his book immediately since I truly believe that we have to brand ourselves in order to stand out of the crowd.
This is a practical but also spiritual book on how to attract customers / patients. I do believe in the Law of Attraction and this book teaches you how to attract perfect customers / patients. They also offer a great ezine.
In June of 2000 I saw Paul Pearsall talk about his book "The Heart's Code" which is extremely interesting. So I had to get this one as well since it talks about my core beliefs: find happiness in the "now." and money does not necessarily equal happiness.
In January of 2004 I saw Richard Flint speak and he got under my skin. So I had to get this book and I must admit, it is one of my favorites. It talks about the emotional tapes we play in our minds and Richard hits the nail right on its head.
